On the 6th and 7th October, 84 Year 11 Geography students visited Slapton Sands to collect data as part of their GCSE Controlled Assessment. Pupils in Year 5 of All Saints, Babbacombe Primary were lucky to sample a taster day here at STCM. They were busy creating music in Media and Brazilian Bread in Food Technology. They had a great day and it was a fantastic opportunity for them to see what we can offer as a secondary school.
We have managed to raise over £400 by holding a charity ‘Staff Leg Waxing’ event. Male. staff volunteers endured waxing pain in aid of a good cause! So far this year we have raised over £500 for Plan UK which means we will be able to sponsor Paola from Bolivia for another two years.
An excellent Retro sports inter-form competition was held on Friday 16th October with over 80 students taking part. Students competed to gain the first round of points for this year’s inter-form competition in events including the sack race and an egg and spoon race. Students were superbly behaved and great fun was had by all.
Last Friday evening the main school hall was transformed into a live catwalk with staff and students from year 10 all glammed up to walk in the name of charity. The event was well supported with over 150 people attending, with even more buying raffle tickets before the event and donating to the girl’s cause.
Hugely successful day of rugby today for our year 8 team in the 7 aside rugby tournament at Forches Cross. We finished in 3rd position in our group with 14 teams attending.
