Around the UK Sailing Challenge – Kieran Year 10

Yr 10 Kieran was selected for the Morvargh Sailing Challenge (April- May) where he and 8 other pupils from across the country circumnavigated the UK (sailed all around the UK). Kieran did very well to be selected as he was up against pupils from grammar schools and with more experience. Kieran got through the tough interview process and was finally selected to do the exciting life changing challenge. He left Plymouth’s Sutton Harbour on the 2nd April calling in at ports: Milford Haven, Rosslare- Ireland, Dublin, Belfast, Oban Scotland, Fort William, Inverness Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Ipswich, London, Southampton and finally finished the epic journey back in Plymouth on the 8th May. It was a life changing experience for Kieran who had no sailing experience before the trip. His parents and the school are very proud of his fantastic achievement! Well Done Kieran ”90% of young people taking part learn something about themselves which will make a positive change in their life; some will even make profound life changing discoveries” Morvargh Sailing Project- using sail training to inspire and change lives.
