Following on from the fantastic set of A level results last week, the Year 11 students are celebrating the best grades in the history of the school.
In English,82% of students achieved at least a grade 4 (previously a grade C). Whilst over 2/3 achieved at least a grade 4(old grade C) in Maths. Many students achieved some of the top grades including Finley Carney 4A*s and 6As, Hannah Galvin 5A*s and 6As, Maddie Bickley 4A*s and 5As and Natasha Goncalves 3A*s, 5As and a grade 9(above an A*). A number of students achieved the new new grade 9 (new top grade awarded to approximately the top 3% in the country) including Matilda Bates, Michal Janus and Jasmin Watts.
Headteacher Peter Brown states ” It has been an excellent set of results with the highest English and Maths A*-C ( new 4-9 in new grade system) pass rate in the school’s history. Our impressive students have worked hard for these grades and the staff have supported them brilliantly with the huge changes to the GCSE qualifications this year. We are delighted and immensely proud of our students, many of whom are continuing their journey at our successful Sixth Form Centre, which also achieved a 98% pass rate and cemented our status as one of the best post 16 providers in the South West”.
