Helen Smith, the Librarian at Eckington School, produces a guide to Christmas TV every year, linking films to books.  A fantastic opportunity to promote reading!  In this guide, there are plenty to choose from… from the classics such as The Great Gatsby,  A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens to fantasy such as Eragon, The Hobbit, and the Harry Potter. The back page of the guide also alerts us to a dozen book adaptations to look out for in 2018 including the hugely anticipated ‘Mortal Engines’ film based on Philip Reeve’s fantasy novels and directed by Peter Jackson.
