Key Stage 3

 

In Year 7, all students have 4 hours a fortnight of French.

In Years 8 and 9, students have 3 hours a week of Spanish and 3 hours a week of French.

 

Our French Schemes of work are based on Studio whilst our Spanish is based on Viva, both of which are published by OUP.

Key Stage 4

 

Languages are an option at KS4: pupils may study French or Spanish or both.

Pupils have 4 hours a fortnight.

We follow the AQA Syllabus.

60% of the GCSE is assessed by 4 pieces of Controlled Assessment which are spread throughout the two year course.

The remaining 40% is assessed by terminal li9stening and reading exams in May of year 11.

Key stage 5

 

Pupils may study French or Spanish or both.
Pupils have 9 lessons a fortnight.
We follow the AQA syllabus.
Students are assessed at the end of Year 12 and 13 orally and by terminal written exam.

KS3: French and Spanish clubs.

KS4: Booster sessions.

KS4 / 5: Day trip to Roscoff.
