St Cuthbert Mayne 6th form Business students, were taken on a trip to the ‘City that never sleeps’ this Easter holiday with an educational visit to New York City. 13 Students and staff took in the sights and sounds of the big apple, whilst visiting many famous attractions including the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero Memorial and the financial district, including Wall Street and the Federal Bank of America.
As well as being educational, the successful trip also gave students the opportunity for independent time around the city with many grasping the chance to catch a basketball game at Madison Square Gardens or watching Les Misérables on Broadway.
Miss Tombs, Head of Business studies at St Cuthbert Mayne who arranged the trip, described how ‘students were mesmerised with the city in both an educational and enjoyable way. For some students this was their first trip abroad, and what a way to start! An amazing time was had by all’.
