On Wednesday 15th April, Ivybridge College, Kingsbridge College, Brixham College and St Cuthbert Mayne School took part in a Physics Challenge hosted at St Cuthbert Mayne. The challenge was funded by the Ogden Trust a charitable organisation that promotes the teaching and learning of Physics across the UK.
A satellite communications company called Spirent that have offices in Paignton helped to host the event and provided vital components of the challenge which revolved around solving GPS puzzles and Physics challenges. Students had to find a correct location on a map using GPS satellite data and then complete a Physics practical task. Scores were gained for each correct location and answer. The students under took the tasks enthusiastically and rose to the challenges, which were stretching but achievable.
The winning team came from Brixham College, with St Cuthbert Mayne narrowly coming second. Congratulations go to all the competitors and Spirent for helping to organise such a great event!
