Home learning is a valuable part of every student’s curriculum.
Home learning is set for a variety of reasons:

- it enables students to complete a task set in class
- it enables students to carry out a task related to that set in school
- it enables students to prepare for the next lesson by reading a text in advance
- it enables students to learn work studied at school
- it enables students to do background reading, research and original work
- it enables a habit of disciplined study to develop for future exams
- it enables staff to monitor retentive powers and to assess ability to develop ideas and to undertake guided research
