The Government allocates additional funding for students who enter the school in Year 7 having achieved levels below Level 4 in Mathematics and Reading in the end of Key Stage 2 assessments. The purpose of the funding is to provide additional support for such students to enable them to make rapid progress in these areas. £500 is allocated per student whose levels are below level 4 in Mathematics and Reading.

We spent the money on Learning Mentors who specifically focused on withdrawal and intervention groups, for students who were below level 4 in English and Maths.  The impact of this for year 7 students across the school is that the low attainers make excellent progress each year as a result of targeted support.
