Careers Fair 2015

Last week saw the return of the annual St Cuthbert Mayne Careers Fair. We had nearly 800 students and parents through the doors! Exhibitors included Devon Fire Service, Police, Babcock, NHS, Armed Forces, Santander, Universities, FE Colleges, Kier and many more! The exhibitors were impressed by our students’ interest and eagerness to engage with them.

St Cuthbert Mayne Day

We had our annual service to celebrate our feast day on the 27th November. The day was a great success with some inspirational thoughts from The Bishop of Plymouth, Mark O’Toole and the Archdeacon of Totnes, Douglas Dettmer. STCM Level 1 Handball Competition

The STCM level 1 Handball competition for local primary schools was held at STCM last Thursday. Four schools competed-St Margaret’s, Priory, Queensway and St Marychurch, for a place in the next round’s level 2 competition. Marines Exercise encourages Students to ‘dig deep’!

A group of students from years 9 and 10 participated in a day of teamwork, leadership, Marine style physical training and problem solving on Friday 13th November. The students (who didn’t know each other that well) took part in a variety of exercises designed to test their ability to work together to solve logistical problems.

Tintober

In true St Cuthbert Mayne tradition October was changed to Tintober this year. Each year students and staff donate tins of food for those in need. This year we set ourselves a target to collect 2015 tins throughout the month. We are absolutely delighted to have smashed the target with a total of 3355 tins
